PETER GREGORY OBI (CON)
Peter Gregory Obi CON (born 19 July 1961) is a Nigerian businessman and politician who served as the Governor of Anambra State three separate times from 2006 to 2014. In May 2022, he became the Labour Party candidate for President of Nigeria in the 2023 presidential election.
Born in Onitsha in 1961, Obi graduated from the University of Nigeria in 1984. Afterwards he entered business and banking, eventually rising to hold several high-ranking executive positions at banks. By the early 2000s, Obi was the chairman of Fidelity Bank before leaving the position to enter politics. Obi ran for governor in 2003, as a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance but his main opponent was unlawfully declared victor. After three years of legal battles, Obi was declared winner in 2006 and assumed office that March. He was then impeached that November before the impeachment was overturned and he returned to office in February 2007. Again, Obi was removed when a new election was held in April 2007 but the judiciary intervened again and ruled that he should be allowed to complete a full four-year term. In 2010, he won re-election to a second term. Obi’s terms were marked by improvements in state finances, education, and healthcare.
After leaving office in 2014, Obi gained new status as an advocate for good governance and national political figure after decamping to the Peoples Democratic Party in 2014. In 2019, he was selected as the vice presidential nominee in the presidential election running alongside Atiku Abubakar, but lost to incumbent president Muhammadu Buhari and vice president Yemi Osinbajo. By 2022, Obi ran for president himself, first in the PDP until defecting to the LP in May 2022.
Early life and education
Peter Obi was born on 19 July 1961 at Onitsha. He attended Christ the King College, Onitsha, where he completed his secondary school education. He was admitted to the University of Nigeria, in 1980, graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in philosophy in 1984.
Peter Obi attended Lagos Business School, where he completed the Chief Executive Program, Harvard Business School, where he completed two major programs, the London School of Economics, Columbia Business School, and the International Institute for Management Development where he received certificates in the Senior Executive Program and the Chief Executive Officer Program. He also attended the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University, Said Business School of Oxford University and the Judge Business School of Cambridge University.
Pre-political career
Peter Obi was a businessman before he ventured into politics. According to Peter Obi, he started his life as a trader, being born into trading family before venturing into the corporate world. He held leadership positions in some private establishments. Some of the companies he served includes: Next International Nigeria Ltd, Chairman and Director of Guardian Express Mortgage Bank Ltd, Guardian Express Bank Plc, Future View Securities Ltd, Paymaster Nigeria Ltd, Chams Nigeria Ltd, Data Corp Ltd and Card Centre Ltd. He was the youngest chairman of Fidelity Bank Plc.

He is an ordained Clergy Man, an international Conference Speaker in several denominations, and a resource person to different companies and other organizations.
He has travelled to several nations in Africa and Europe in the course of his ministerial duties.
He organizes 'Word and Wisdom Conference' - a capacity building conference that attracts several pastors, Church Leaders, and business people from different denominations. He is also the proprietor of Petra Christian Academy, a Nursery, Primary and Secondary School in Nigeria. Chukwuma Ephraim Okenwa
Chukwuma Ephraim Okenwa fondly known as CEO due to his initials is a Social Entrepreneur, School Administrator and a Public Affairs Analyst. He is the Executive Director of the Leadership Entrepreneurship and Advocacy Network.
Okenwa holds a post graduate diploma in multilateral diplomacy from the United Nations Institute of Training and Research and a Masters in Anti-Corruption and Diplomacy from the International AntiCorruption Academy, Laxenburg.
Chukwuma Okenwa has been nominated twice as a YALI Network influencer in Nigeria ( YALI is the Young African Leadership Initiative of the US Department of State). He is a fellow of the Leadership Course in Criminal Intelligence and Security Management Course with the Defence Intelligence College, Abuja Nigeria and a member of the Nigeria institute of International Affairs.
Okenwa is one of the thirty inaugural cohorts of the Geneva Science Diplomacy Anticipator and indeed the only one selected from West Africa.
Okenwa served as a Board Member at the Enugu State Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB) charged with the responsibility of managing the 296 Public High Schools in the state.

Professor Olusegun Oludapo Sogbesan is a Nigeria that is born in lagos state and hails from Ago- Iwoye, Ijebu, Ogun state. He has lived the greater part of his adult life in Anambra state where he served Nigeria as a youth Corp member in 1991.
Professor Sogbesan is an academia with many years of industrial and entrepreneurial experience with attendant impact on his research interest, work and publications.

PROF. OBIEKWE OKOYE
Professor Obiekwe Okoye is a renowned ophthalmologist, researcher, and educator whose impact on eye care and medical education in Nigeria is profound. As a Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Nigeria, Enugu campus and an Honorary Consultant at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH). He has dedicated his career to advancing eye health, mentoring the next generation of medical professionals, and improving access to quality eye care, especially in underserved communities. Beyond his medical and academic contributions, he is a committed mentor, philanthropist, and faith leader, making him a respected figure both within and outside the medical field.
Early Life and Education:
Born on January 12, 1971, Prof. Obiekwe Okoye grew up in a family that emphasized hard work, education, and service to humanity. His formative years were spent at All Saints Secondary School, Abia State, where his academic excellence and leadership potential were evident from an early age.
Driven by a passion for medicine, he pursued his studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in November 1996. His pursuit of excellence led him to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu, where he underwent intensive postgraduate training in ophthalmology. He obtained his Primary Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) in March 2003, followed by the Part I Fellowship in May 2006 and the Part II Fellowship in November 2007, becoming a certified ophthalmologist.
Career and Achievements:
With over two decades of experience, Prof. Okoye has made remarkable strides in ophthalmology, contributing significantly to clinical practice, research, and education. As a Professor at UNN, he has played an instrumental role in shaping the medical curriculum, mentoring students, and conducting impactful research.
His role as an Honorary Consultant at UNTH Ituku Ozalla, Enugu, has enabled him to provide top-tier eye care services while training the next generation of ophthalmologists. Recognizing the need for accessible eye care in rural communities, he has led numerous outreach programs, serving as the Head of Community Eye Care Outreaches in rural centers across Abagana (Anambra State), Obukpa (Enugu State), and Isiochi (Abia State). These initiatives have delivered free eye care, cataract surgeries, and preventive screenings to thousands of people.
As an advocate for specialized training, he coordinates the WACS/OSN SESS Annual NeuroOphthalmology Course, ensuring that young ophthalmologists receive advanced education. His research on retinal diseases, community ophthalmology, and eye health economics has been widely published, influencing policies and shaping best practices in the field.

Prof. Okoye is a prolific researcher with numerous publications in esteemed national and international journals. His work has expanded knowledge in areas such as vitreoretinal diseases, community ophthalmology, and healthcare economics. Uchenna Onwuamaegbu Ugwu
Uchenna Onwuamaegbu-Ugwu, the founder of Edufun Technik, a Social Enterprise that focuses on the implementation of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education for children and youth from 3-18 years old in underprivileged and underserved communities in Eastern Nigeria. We ensure that 60% of our students and clients are girls. We also focus on developing their potentials, skills and talents by providing our students with quality hands-on-training on coding, design thinking, engineering and robotics, and guiding them to make informed STEM career-decisions that will set them moving into a big future of STEM.
At Edufun Technik, we address the challenges of inaccessibility and unavailability of Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) education through a design-driven customized STEM curriculum. Our advocacy model is by increasing the number of girls between ages 3-18 years to have full access to STEM education in order to develop requisite skills ready for the Big Future.
We have covered over 500 classes of STEM curriculum since 2014, trained 1,200 pupils and 2,100 Students in after-school STEM workshops and in-class activities as well as consulting for schools on designing curriculum that will enhance STEM/Robotics Education.
I strongly believe that early introduction of STEM education in rural community would inspire them to be great thinkers, problem
solvers and make good career decision that will impact their community.
